“Would you reincarnate with me? It is a choice.” |
In 1993, I was at the Parliament of the World’s Religions. I was so fortunate
to have access, as a staff volunteer, assistant stage manager to be exact. During that event I was in a small class/press
with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, standing to provide water and whatever was
needed. I was even called on to fill the water twice bring pitchers of waters
to monks, which then served the speakers. It was a tremendous charge, simply
serving and listening.
During the class, a question on
about reincarnation and remembering rebirth was asked about his experience. His Holiness explained, and was
interpreted as saying it was like passing between rooms. That it was because of
the great need of the people. Then somewhere from the question was a gong
statement, from the interpreter,“Would you reincarnate with me? It is a
choice.” If it starts with a choice then I choose yes and I heard every fiber
of my being screamed in affirmation, a voice so loud I thought the room heard. The
monks, at least one, heard me. Then the class broke up, and while everyone
left, I would clean the room.
Then as the Dalai Lama passed me he thanked me for bringing them water, as his interpreter would say, touching me on the shoulder. It was a powerful feeling of acceptance by another human being in a way that I never could have understood, and never able to explain. It was an awakening, and I have always believed in His Holiness since then.
Now in 2016, 23 years later, having an entire lifetime later, I am as dedicated to reincarnate now as I was then. Never have I wavered, never have I changed. For me the Apocalypse is the breaking of the barrier between our lives, as the Tulkus do. So while I am here today, will I be back for another life? For me the answer is yes. The question is “Will you reincarnate with me?"
